In Taiwan, there are 3 main public means of transport with a reasonable cost, which are the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), THSR (Taiwan High-Speed Rail) and conventional buses. Like other developing countries, traveling by MRT is convenient and safe, whether you can speak Taiwanese or not.
Buying tickets for the bus or MRT, you can go to the supermarket to buy Easy Card with the deposit of NT $ 100 and then recharge the card with about NT$600 or above. If you buy a ticket, its fare is bout NT $ 20 for once. If you are confident with the ability to know the road system, you can take a bus with a cheaper price, at about NT $ 7 -10.
